Abstract
Hydrogen sulphide is a commonly occurring component of biogas that causes atmospheric pollution and corro-sion of equipment used in biogas plants. Its removal before further processing of biogas is therefore necessaryfor environmental and technical reasons. The paper presents a critical review of technologies that use solidsorbents. The next paper will discuss the chemical and biochemical processes taking place in liquid systems.
