Bioenergy for the Region Cluster with the visit to the USA /Philadelphia, Washington, Boston/

As a coordinator of the Bioenergy for the Region Cluster we had been selected to attend the High-level EU Cluster Mission to the USA. During the 5-days-long trip, we have visited Philadelphia, Washington and Boston. Together with the representatives of clusters from Germany, Sweden, France, Romania and Italy we have visited many American institutions, supporting the cooperation of science and economy and research institutes, working for enterprises. We have been to PennUniversity, the Singh Center for Nanotechnology, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems and the Northeast Clean Energy Economy. In Washington, at the TechConnect congress, we presented the achievements of the European project Step-by-Step. Commitments for Energy Savings.
We had the opportunity to get acquainted with the American model of implementation of the projects, developing technologies in energy fields, financed by public funds, like federal and state funds, seed capitals, venture capitals and as well as private business funds. Interesting experience for all European clusters was the "Venture Cafe" in Boston, where the start-ups from all over the world, attracted to the USA and realized there their "american dream" had the every-week informal meeting.

Our main conclusions for the Bioenergy for the Region Cluster after the US mission: we can offer to the USA market the complementary solutions in energy efficiency and energy savings technology and the US is open for cooperation for Polish entrepreneurs and scientific institutes.
