From PLASMAHYDROGEN to WASTE4H2
On May 30, after two years of intensive work by Dr. Eng. Sergii Bespalko, the implementation of the PLASMAHYDROGEN project, supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the Ulam Program – Seal of Excellence, in which Pro-Akademia was a host institution, successfully came to an end.
In the course of the project implementation, the plasma-driven solution electrolysis (PDSE) for H2 production was developed. PDSE is a promising H2-generating technology, especially for H2 production from liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHC) such as alcohol-water mixtures and for simultaneous H2 production and treatment of wastewater containing organic pollutants.
The received results were published in several research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals (Energies, Przeglad Elektrotechniczny) as well as disseminated and discussed with the research community and enterprises in the research conferences in Poland, Switzerland, Germany, and Ukraine.
Now, RIC Pro-Akademia, together with Dr. Bespalko, continues research on PDSE, but at the higher TRL level within the joint Polish & Omani WASTE4H2 project, supported by the Polish National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the German University of Technology in Oman (Sultanate of Oman) under the INNOGLOBO program.
