About the project
PROKOKO project covered industrial research and experimental development works aimed at developing and implementing a product innovation - bio-assurance litter material, improving the wellbeing of poultry. The project's tasks included research on microbiological hazards in poultry production, new bedding preparation considering its new use characteristics, in-vivo studies of impact of prototype bedding on animal wellbeing, evaluation of useful life of the new litter material, development of technical design of pilot line and technological card for the production of the new litter material, as well as the construction and testing of a pilot line for the production of innovative litter on an industrial scale. The target group of the PROKOKO project were professional poultry farmers, especially in Poland, whose poultry market is the largest in Europe.
